The John Dobson Bursary for the Study of Free Enterprise awards up to $10,000 to a student—or students—with an interest in better understanding free markets and the free enterprise economic system. Application deadline is July 25, 2026.

Dobson Bursary FAQ

How many students are awarded the bursary each year?
Typically, the $10,000 bursary is given to one student, or split between two.
I am not Canadian. Can I apply for this bursary?
The bursary is not exclusively awarded to Canadian citizens, but non-Canadian students wishing to apply need to be studying at a Canadian university.
I am Canadian, but studying abroad. Can I apply for this bursary?
Yes. Your application is welcome if you are a Canadian studying abroad at an accredited post-secondary institution.
