A one-year bursary with the possibility of renewal for up to two years
The John Dobson Bursary for the Study of Free Enterprise awards up to $10,000 to a student—or students—with an interest in better understanding free markets and the free enterprise economic system.
The Dobson Bursary is for

Undergraduate or graduate students at a Canadian university

Students studying humanities, economics, business law, or social sciences

Canadian citizens studying outside of Canada
The Dobson Bursary is awarded for

Up to $10,000

One year
(possibility of renewal for two more)

How many students are awarded the bursary each year?
Typically, the $10,000 bursary is given to one student, or split between two.
I am not Canadian. Can I apply for this bursary?
The bursary is not exclusively awarded to Canadian citizens, but non-Canadian students wishing to apply need to be studying at a Canadian university.
I am Canadian, but studying abroad. Can I apply for this bursary?
Yes. Your application is welcome if you are a Canadian studying abroad at an accredited post-secondary institution.
